PHEASANT

is a recognizable bird from the Phasianidae family (lat. Phasianidae)

Males usually have colorful plumage, with a pronounced long tail,
while females are less striking and usually brown in color.

Pheasants are extremely fast and agile fliers, often flying low above the ground. Pheasants are only shot while they are in flight or running. For the hunter, this means a safe, calm and fast hand, but also a well-trained and high-quality dog. The dog helps very much in hunting by finding and “raising” pheasants. In Article 10. of the Rulebook on the method of using hunting weapons and ammunition, there is a table with the permissible diameter of the shot in millimeters and the maximum permissible shooting distance. The permissible diameter of the shot for pheasant shooting is 3.0-3.5 mm, and the maximum permissible shooting distance is 40 meters.

Pheasant hunting is allowed in the period from September 16. to January 31. when pheasants are most active. By the decision of the competent Ministry, hunting in pheasant hunting grounds is additionally allowed from September 1st to to March 31st.

ORGANIZATION and CULTIVATION

Pheasant hunting is organized on the territory of Count Zrinski’s hunting ground, and the pheasants themselves are bred on Count Bombelles’ pheasant farm located in Petrijanec.

GOAL OF THE PHEASANTRY

is to offer our customers pheasant game of high quality. As an additional advantage of the hunting organization, the pheasants are grown on our own pheasant farm.

When coming to hunt, every hunter must have a hunting card and a weapon license for the weapon he is hunting with, and must comply with all the provisions of the Hunting Act.
